Prep for your Bikini Waxing Session
Your hair should be at least 1/4 inch long. So please stop shaving 2 weeks before your appointment. Don't exfoliate your skin for 3 days before your appointment. Please let the esthetician know of any medications that you may be taking. There are several medications that may irritate your skin and might prohibit you from having any waxing until off the medications. For bacterial prevention it is important for you to shower or tidy up before your appointment.
Remember to wear loose fitting clothing to your appointment. Tight fitting clothing and jeans can be irritating to freshly waxed skin. If you are using any retinols, Retin A, salicylic or glycolic acids please refrain from using those products for 1 week before scheduling your appointment. If you choose to continue using these products before your wax your skin could be compromised and burning, tearing, and lifted skin could occur.
After Care for your wax
Don't use fragranced lotions or cleansers for at least 3 days after your appointment. No hot tubs, saunas or steamy hot showers for the first 24 hours. You should start exfoliating 3 days after your appointment. This will help prevent ingrown hairs and keep your skin smooth. Exfoliating once or twice a week keeps your skin healthy and ingrown hair free! For skin that will be exposed to sunlight you should always wear sunscreen but it is ESPECIALLY important for freshly waxed skin.
We have a fabulous exfoliating spray available for purchase that works wonders on eliminating and preventing ingrown hair. Just spray once you get out of the shower and you're done! I strongly suggest my Bikini Kitty line that will help prevent ingrown hairs.
